Het was alsof ik naar een romantische liefdesfilm zat te kijken. The Notebook is er niks bij 😉 Natuurlijk moest er een baby geboren worden, maar Leslie en Kevin waren zo hecht en close samen. Hij had haar niet beter kunnen helpen dan hij al deed. Echt heel erg mooi om te mogen zien en dit speciale moment in hun leven samen te mogen vastleggen. Zelfs het personeel van het ziekenhuis ging soms zonder iets te doen de kamer weer uit, omdat ze zagen dat deze twee het helemaal samen deden.
Leslie en Kevin komen uit Amerika en zijn nu een jaar in Nederland voor Kevin’s studie. Leslie is zelf geboorte fotograaf en daarom was het extra bijzonder dat ze mij dit toevertrouwde, ik hoopte iets heel moois te kunnen maken voor ze!
Enkele dagen voor de geboorte was Leslie’s moeder aangekomen in Nederland en ook zij was een grote steun voor Leslie tijdens de bevalling. Heel mooi hoe zij haar dochter steunde, maar zich ook precies op de goede momenten terug trok om Leslie en Kevin samen de ruimte te geven. Ze waren echt een fantastisch team deze 3!
Ontzettend bedankt lieve Leslie en Kevin dat jullie mij vertrouwden en ik bij deze bijzondere gebeurtenis mocht zijn. Ik hoop dat jullie de foto’s voor altijd zullen koesteren. Heel veel geluk en liefde samen met kleine Kevin!

This was like watching a love story. The Notebook is not even coming close to this one ;-)… Well of course a baby had to be born, but Leslie and Kevin were so very close together. He couldn’t have helped her more than he did. It truly was a great honour to be invited and to watch and capture this very special moment in their lives together. Even the medical staff sometimes went out the hospital room again without doing anything, because they saw these two were totally doing fine by themselves.
Leslie and Kevin moved here from America about a year ago to study. In the US Leslie is a birth photographer herself, which made it extra special she chose and trusted me to document this for them. I really hoped I could create something special for them!
A few days before little Kevin was born, Leslie’s mother arrived from the States. She also was a big support for her during labour. She knew when to encourage her daughter and when to step back to give Leslie and Kevin enough space together. These three really were a fabulous team together!
Thank you so so much Leslie and Kevin, for trusting and inviting me to share this beautiful experience with you. I hope these photos will be treasured for the rest of your lives. Wishing you all the best and much love together with little Kevin!
